Non-Aligned Movement Mtg. Will Call for Puerto Rican Independence
"NAM Meeting Will Call for Puerto Rican Independence
HAVANA, Cuba, April 23 (acn) The independence of Puerto Rico will be one of the claims for decolonization to be made during the upcoming ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM) scheduled from April 27 to 30 in Havana.

Cuban News Agency

Abelardo Moreno, Cuban deputy foreign affairs minister announced that the Hostosian Pro-Independence Movement will participate as a guest organization in the meeting, in which more than 60 foreign affairs ministers and other top government officials have confirmed their participation.

During the 14th NAM Summit, held in Havana in 2006, Puerto Rican pro-
independence leader Juan Mari Bras assured that his country will join the movement after it attains its self-determination.

NAM, with currently 118 member nations, was founded on September 1961
during its first conference held in Belgrade, capital of the then Yugoslavia.
