1. Sounds like a good idea
Seems to me it's a good idea to have the elections, and then have the new President and Congress sort things out. I suppose the more extreme left elements feel let down, but as I've said before, having elections seems to be the best way to defuse the situation and avoid violence. Based on what I've read, Zelaya wasn't doing a very good job, so it's better if he takes his hat and moseys on over the horizon. The question is, are the people in Honduras going to figure out their main problem is too many Hondurans, and a society which seems to create nothing but mediocre leaders, no matter on which side of the spectrum they happen to be?

4. Neither Micheletti nor Zelaya are running
Neither is running, so it seems the Hondurans will have a new leadership. What I find amusing is to see the pro-Zelaya crowd screaming at the top of their lungs while ignoring a wonderful opportunity to earn a better position via de ballot box. Must be that none of the candidates they like have much of a chance. Sort of the way it is in the USA, where guys like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich can't break through even though they're a breath of fresh air for their respective parties. But if none of their candidates has much of a chance, what's the deal? Are they trying to use violence to turn over the status quo?

5. exactly, so if there is no election as some here seem to be advocating
unless Zelaya is returned, then where does that put Honduras? still under the control of Micheletti.
