'The Rolling Stones Of Salsa,' Grammy Award Winning Cuban Group, Los Van Van To Perform Exclusive Dates At The World Famous Conga Room, Dec 14 & 15
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Conga Room) - After rescheduling the opening of their U.S. Tour at The Conga Room in Los Angeles, GRAMMY Award winning Cuban band, Los Van Van have confirmed their LA appearance for Tuesday and Wednesday, December 14 and 15. "Fans will be treated to a show of a lifetime," said The Conga Room owner, Brad Gluckstein. Ten years after receiving their GRAMMY at the Conga Room amid significant political turmoil, Los Van Van's much anticipated, exclusive LA engagement will definitely sell out."
Los Van Van, who touched down on U.S. soil last Friday, were originally scheduled to kick off their first U.S. tour in more than 10 years at The Conga Room Los Angeles, but, since missing the dates due to government delays, they went on with their next scheduled stop in Houston where they played to a sold out crowd. Their three New York concert dates this week have already sold out.
"We are extremely excited about this tour and pleased with the support we have received from fans, venues and people in the media," stated Hugo Cancio of Fuego Entertainment and promoter of Los Van Van.
Formed by Juan Formell in 1969, Los Van Van are innovators of the Cuban style of a genre known as 'Songo,' a reshaped version of the traditional sound combining Afro-Cuban, rock, hip-hop, funk, and disco. In 1999, Los Van Van received a GRAMMY Award in the Latin category of Best Salsa Performance from their album "Van Van is Here" (Llego Van Van). It was at The Conga Room that they received this award.
