Rising cases of torture in Venezuela
Human Rights
Efforts made by the Venezuelan government to clean up the police force have not borne fruit, according to the Venezuelan Program for Education-Action in Human Rights (Provea). The human rights watchdog reported that in the last 12 months the number of forced disappearances, extrajudicial executions and acts of torture allegedly committed by police officers have increased significantly.
