Cuban Children to Reissue Che GuevaraâÖs Liberating Heroic Deed
Edited on Sun Dec-26-10 07:14 AM by dipsydoodle
Anniversary event :

Havana, Dec 26 (Prensa Latina) Some 200 children and adolescents will reissue Argentine-Cuban guerrilla Ernesto Che GuevaraâÖs heroic deed in December 1958 when he staged the Battle of Santa Clara that underpinned the victory of the Revolution.

In this way, the members of José Martí Pioneers Organization, which groups students in elementary and basic teachings, will recall the 52 years of the event, reported Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

Those involved will tour the sculpture complex where lie the remains of the also former minister, as well as presentation and sale of books, a chess tournament, and the performances of a brigade of art instructors.

Among other actions it will be evoked the armored train derailment, which defeated the last attempt by the government of Fulgencio Batista (1952-1959) to withstand the pressure of the guerrilla movement headed by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

1. Interesting, dipsydoodle. Their government is still very young, isn't it?
The very idea natural change would have evolved in Cuba without a revolution is absolutely so wildly outlandish it almost embarrasses me to write it down. As recently as 1959, as you have noted, people were living in huts with thatched rooves, no plumbing, no electricity, no running water, NADA. And PARASITES in their intestines from dirty water, and no way to refrigerate their food.

It almost would make the saints gag.
