4. Not unless Obama changes directions.
Where is this change Obama was talking about when he was campaigning? It seems to have gone missing

7. I Agree! We should put the Republicans back in power that caused this mess
in the first place. That would give them the opportunity to be the heroes of their own self inflicted disaster.

They really think people are stupid

Obama still is fairly popular, Congress is NOT

12. I have not heard anything about them running away from Obama.
However, Politics can be one cruel business.

It could be a situation this simple. Mark Shields and David Brook
PBS, do an analysis at end of J. Lehers' program each evening.

Last night it was something else. Each of them had spent the day
on the Hill. They were both there but not together. So the fact
that a Dem and a Repub came up with such a similar story is sobering.
Each of them reported that the Senate is in absolute Panic. A "I
could lose my job" pall hangs heavy through out. There is so mcuh
anger according to Shields: Usually, if one Senator is facing
a rough race coming up and there are others who are not, they
will pitch in some of their funds to give the one in trouble a
boost. Not today, it is every man for himself. Totally out of character.

This is just a thought. In such an angry environment people can
and do say things they later regret. Purely from a political
perspective. The Dems have now lost 3 races in a row. Obama
has gone to all of these races to try to bring them home. The
Media, at least some are seeing this as rebuff to Obama.
In a moment of anger, I can imagine some Senators saying something
like Obama cannot help us. That in turn being twisted to say
they are running away from Obama.

I wish the Senators would refuse to talk to Media get awy and
refresh their mins and think before they speak. Maybe I wish
for too much.

Someone said something. Perhaps we need to let the dust settle.

It appears Obama is starting to adjust and perhaps develop a
different strategy. In other words course, correct.

14. Thanks for your thoughtful analysis. So much doing what's
best for the greater good. Very disillusioning.

8. BIG BIG MISTAKE they are letting the republican media
dictate to them. They are listening to the wrong people. If Gore had not run away from Clinton he might have had more votes and bush wouldn't have been able to steal the election.

13. They will do so at their peril.
Obama is still the most popular politician in the country and Democrats running away from him would just embolden the Republicans.

If Congressional Dems had supported the President from the beginning and delivered a decent health care bill for him to sign, the would not be in this mess.

15. Proving once more how braindead they are
Obama is the one politician in DC right now with a fairly strong approval rating. If they run away from him, they do so at their own risk. Which is probably why they'll do it. Because, as they've shown over and over again this year, they're braindead morons when it comes to governing.
