Mainstream Media... something you sit back and have a good laugh at
It does no good to get really peaked about the media shelling out more scenarios and more lies than you can shake an apple tree at because they are not going to stop as long as Fox is pulling in the kind of ratings it is. Surprisingly, Huffingtonpost has joined the band wagon of double dealing blowhearts usually in large supply at "mainstream media headquaters". I thought I'd see the day. Just didn't think it was gonna come that soon. I've got my laugh track going behind me as I bring her website up. Did you see Obama's evil clown look? I knew it had to be a lie when I saw the picture.

A real LAUGHER! I thought she was interested in the truth... and less hyperbole. It's not the first time but this one really took the cake. She has turned back into a right wing idiot-logue. EVERYTHING she spouts about the president is NEGATIVE. If I want to laugh at all negativity all the time... all I have to do is turn on one webisode of Morning Joe and I know what all of them will be like. That's negative news central. In fact all Republicans ever spout is negativity. Everyone's a real "Palin in the Ass" right now. And the news has gone along with the menagerie of tea parties being Nome's and elves and fairies we should pay attention to. If you didn't laugh at tea party convention series #1 then you missed the point. It will come around again because this was about ratings. 600 people showed. So what. It was about ratings! News is fake. Republicans are fake. We should understand that tea parties are fake too. They are Republicans run amok and like news, they deserve our laughter.

Other than Rachel, Keith and Ed it is hard to keep a straight face when I watch the rest of the line up on MSNBC. I've learned how to laugh just looking at Rachel and Keith. They lace their news casts with snarkiness and humor. The best medicine is laughter. While other opinion shows are regurgitating a narrative that they hope will boost their ratings we know they've casted facts aside and it leaves little room for me to do anything else but laugh. Join me. Maybe one day when enough people keep mocking them they will start to tell the truth as get this... "the narrative".

In the meantime, accept news for what it is. Comedy Hour. I love Stewart and Colbert. They make the news worth watching. Network news - ABC, NBC, CBS and cable news all take themselves way too seriously and they think you will too... forever. I now think the Weather Channel has more facts than traditional opinion media. They have a narrative to sell us too but they line up pretty close to the truth. It's winter now. That's true. A ground hog seeing his shadow? That's just funny.

What would we do without mainstream news? It's fake hypotheses and some of it is dangerous (akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater) but they hope you don't mind because they need their ratings. Facts be damned, they need their ratings. And until another serious network rises up out of the ashes and starts dumbfounding us with the truth then we should just pull up a chair, enjoy some popcorn because laughter is really good medicine even understanding that news is nothing but bullshit.

2. There's nothing 'mainstream' about it. It's corporate media.
The American people are but consumers in their eyes, consumers to be manipulated to corporate ends...

The corporate media does not serve truth, justice, honor, or any public purpose whatsoever. It serves corporations and the fatcat republicons (by and large) who own it.

4. I think the media is so bad we wouldn't miss it at all. There
should be some kind of law against the way they push and push and push the lies about the Democratic Party and Obama. Can you think of what would have happened by now if the Democrats hadn't stepped in and did what they have done to help. And if the republicans had their hands tied and their mouths taped shut we would be further along.

7. I didn't mean piqued. I spelled it the way I meant it. Peaked! And I don't mind having a good
at the media. And hyperbole is funny too. That's the opinion of the post. You sound "Peaked".

10. You might find it funny
Edited on Thu Feb-11-10 07:37 AM by Doctor_J
I find it a fifth column of fascism, and a clear and present danger to America.

Edit: I seriesly don't know what to make of "Dems" who watch that shit hour after hour, day after day, and respond with rants on DU and strongly worded e-mails to the perpetrators. What does that accomplish, exactly, except to verify that you're part of their audience?
