Greg Sargent's Plumline: Dan Coats Unveils his Line of Attack on Evan Bayh: He's too liberal
Dan Coats unveils his line of attack on Evan Bayh: He’s too liberal. Which confirms the truism that Dems will always get attacked as too liberal, even if they urinate on the heads of liberals on a regular basis.

1. The irony is that Bayh and the rest of the Conserva-Dems are casting bad votes
to try to shore up their conservative creds. Clearly the democrats should put out the best HCR (single payer or a strong public option) because no matter how they vote they will be ding'd by the GOP.

2. And, therein lies another flaw in our
system..politicians aren't looking out for the people they represent but they are betraying them to keep their cushy government benefits.

4. it's the perpetual campaign --
concerned about their own political asses over doing the people's business. It appears Blanche Lincoln is going to lose her seat regardless which is fine with me because she's useless. Too bad she doesn't have the integrity to take one for the team before that happens.

5. Yeah, that would nice but the well being of the people is
just not on the radar of pols like blanche..even if they're going down themselves..very ignoble ending(a dino bites the dust).

It really was a miracle that Obama-Biden won with all the craven power forces in the USA.

6. Why don't Indiana voters DEMAND a truly liberal senator, or a liberal governor, etc?
I guess the same question could apply to almost any state these days, including my own (NJ).

10. Having been an observer of Indiana politics for awhile
the Democrats around here are largely indistinguishable from the Republicans in most aspects other than the Repubs around here like to push a lot of fundie-backed legislation (and we have Dan Burton's brother, Woody, in the House as well!:eyes:). Thankfully, Dems still control the House and a lot of religious right legislation (including the anti-gay marriage amendment) tends to die in the House every session. The Repubs, though, have controlled our Senate for as long as I can remember and I don't know if we'll ever control that body (for some reason).

8. What I don't understand is how Obama's numbers according to the Gallup are better than Repigs.
http://www.gallup.com/poll/125066/State-States.aspx

46.0% Democratic/Lean
39.6% Republican/Lean

17.8% Liberal
38.5% Moderate
40.6% Conservative

55.3% Approval
35.4% Disapproval

If the above are any indication Bayh should be going more left than right if he wants to win.
