Davis-Bacon act
Papantonio on Thom Hartman says Obama suspended Davis-Bacon act for workers on the Gulf spill. Draw your own conclusions.

5. Did I say I swallowed it.
Just reporting what I heard. I do consider both of these guys pretty reliable, we'll have to see won't we. The truth will come out.

10. BTW
This is not a court room. Papantonio has however seen many courtrooms and I don't think he'd shoot his mouth off before confirming something.

4. It has been suspended a few times by Presidents in the past.
FDR suspended it for a few things for the New Deal, HW Bush and W. during Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. Haven't heard anything about Obama suspending it though.

8. Yes, that is correct. Just looked it up on wikipedia since I remember FDR suspending it.
In 1934 President Franklin Roosevelt suspended the Act for three weeks in order to manage administrative adjustments in light of the New Deal.

The Davis–Bacon Act was suspended by President Richard Nixon for 28 days in February 1971 in an effort to reduce inflation pressures. Labor Secretary Peter J. Brennan accused the Nixon administration of treating construction workers as patsies. Shortly afterward, Nixon reinstated Davis-Bacon enforcement and ordered the establishment of the Construction Industry Stabilization Committee.

In September 1992 President George H. W. Bush indefinitely suspended the Davis–Bacon Act during the recovery from Hurricane Andrew in 1992. After Bill Clinton became president, he reinstated the Act in March 1993.

On September 7, 2005, President George W. Bush, citing a national emergency, again suspended the Act in the areas of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. He reinstated it on October 26, 2005.

Nothing about Obama yet per Google.
He wrote a letter against Bush suspending it in 2005:

6. Google doesn't seem to know anything about Obama suspending
it. The only recent suspension I found was Shrub in 2005 during Katrina, but that article said Shrub aved to all the Dems and reinstatd it by December, 2005.

11. Why would Davis Bacon be involved in the Gulf?
Davis Bacon is for federally funded projects. This is being paid for by BP and DB would not apply.
