1. I think the Pukes are in trouble. The nutbags are loud and crazy.
The "leadership" is muddled and negative.

I think the GOP is going to take a lickin'.

8. You forgot:
"Panic and stampede to the right as they accept the media's claim that losing a few seats is a massive drubbing that gives the GOP the mandate to run the country."

3. I think they will maintain majorities in each, but suffer losses in each.
The Senate will get much tighter.

6. It will play against the party in power
People are stupid. They can't reason through who is to "blame". They just blame the party in power. I wish I wasn't that cynical but I am.

They have a very short memory and a tendency towards knee jerk reactions.

7. My *Official* Predictions
Edited on Sun Jun-13-10 10:58 PM by PBS Poll-435
Hold PA, WA, IL, CA, NV, NY, AR.

Pick up OH, MO, KY.

Lose DE.

FL is a wash.

Net gain +2.

61 in the Senate.

House is a little more volatile, but I still think we will have 235+ when the dust settles.

The House is the bigger worry for me.

14. Keep House, lose Senate
Bayh's seat, a nominally Democratic seat, will become a formal Republican seat per latest polls.

One silver lining: Harry Reid will win reelection.

27. That's a huge stretch looking at the math
and I wouldn't consider retaining the best player on the Republican team over the past 7 years to be a silver lining. Unless the Senate's prepared to dump him.

19. We will retain both. The GOP will be shocked, the baggers will be angry, the Democratic
Party leaders will learn nothing and things will continue as they have been going.

25. Bingo! Tea Party is at 50% disaproval, the more people see of them, the less they like them
We will drop 12-18 in the House. The Senate could swing 2-3 either way. But November is a long way off. How the disaster in the Gulf plays out will make a big impact.

It is great if the Tea Party is fading, the faster the better.

22. I've gotten skeptical of us losing the house since we won Murtha's seat
If the GOP is going to retake the house, then a district like Murtha's should be a #1 pick up opportunity, given how it's gone more republican over the years. If the GOP can't win a seat like that, then they have little chance at taking the house.

29. I feel pretty good that we will hold onto the Senate.
The Dems' caucus already has 59 seats. So of the 18 blue seats that are open, 10 of them would have to turn red (with zero red seats turning blue) for us to lose our official majority (since Biden is our tiebreaker). I have a hard time seeing a scenario where it mathematically makes sense that the Republicans can retake control in this election cycle.

The House? I'm not as confident there. I think we will see a decrease in our majority to be sure, but how much of a decrease remains to be seen.

I'm voting for option #1 in your poll, and I'm trying to stay positive about our chances in November!

:hi:

31.  I think we will "lose" the Senate, but it won't make any difference.
With democrats like Blanche Lincoln, who needs
republicans?

I'd rather have them outside peeing outside
than inside leaving puddles.
