this just in: we are losing the game!!
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 07:57 PM by islandmkl
our goddam quarteback is getting clobbered...

and, apparently, the cheerleaders don't actually score points and the 'fans in the stands' only get to make critical remarks about how the game should have been played...though they have no clue how to actually make things happen on the field...

YOU don't want a billion gallons of oil in the Gulf...then shut that shit down...don't look for one man, let alone a couple of hundred others, all of whom get thousands and thousands of dollars from the energy companies, to accomplish it for you...

it's only too bad, in some twisted sense, that the VERY FIRST DEEP WELL RIG didn't blow up and do this shit and maybe all this crap would already be over and done with and we could have already adjusted to not having that oil for our consumption...

like any other dream or nightmare, you gotta wake up...it's just a matter of time

3. Was thinking that oil from the Gulf was not for our consumption, but for the highest
bidders' on the open market, i.e., China, et al. :P

4. you are correct...i would only submit that removing any oil from the market has a certain impact
on that market...unfortunately, most americans think that is 'our' oil and supplies us with somewhat cheap fuels...

so, maybe, if that oil was 'removed' from the equation, with a probable rise in prices, however small or large, since we have long known that oil supply is not directly related to fuel prices...maybe more americans would feel the need to start looking for options to fossil-fuel dependency...a dependency more economic that anything else...

WTF am i thinking?...if we DIDN'T have these wells all over the Gulf, most americans would clamor to 'DRILL, BABY, DRILL' to access that oil and deliver our salvation...regardless of the facts pertaining to the world oil market...

being chumps ain't always fun, but goddam, it sure is easy...
