Because of the way the White House handled the now infamous Sherrod Case....
Edited on Tue Jul-20-10 08:41 PM by WCGreen
They have put themselves in the position of having to win my loyalty back.

I will vote for him in 2012 simply because the alternative is not even remotely agreeable.

But as far as defending them, campaigning for them, sticking up for them...

Well, they are going to have to do some real good fence mending.

I know that I am not that different from a whole lot of other lifelong and extremely loyal democrats so I imagine that this administration is going to have to do something that shows they aren't just a mess of callow calculating political operatives.

They have to show me that they are loyal to the people who are loyal to them and that they are not so driven by what ever lunatic crap that is spewed by the crazy right wing in this county.

A person in the employment of this government has to know that their boss has their back. If not, then why should I trust them to have my back.

As I said I would not vote for anyone else but Obama and I would not support a primary challenge but my enthusiasm for the Whote House is really very weak now...

I'll do my best to sleep tonight, knowing that you're out there, somewhere, un-rec'ing posts that are in any way critical of the President I canvassed, called and caucused for, and still hold accountable.

32. Can you at least see the whole story?
Of all the horrible things that happened in this injustice, Obama is the least involved in this. Only an ass hole would ignore the involvement of Fox News, Breitbart, Vilsack & the NAACP and lay the blame solely at Obama's feet.

He spoke in vagaries, platitudes about hope, change, receding waters, planets aligning, etc. If people had bothered to look beyond the facade and the empty words they would have seen a very ambitious man who wanted to be president beyond all else.

49. I admit it. I was taken in by his magnificent oratorial skills
Skills he has to this day. Looking back, I see that we had the choice between Clinton or Clinton and we chose Clinton. His fiery rhetoric reminded me of a cross between MLK and FDR so I didn't see his Clintonesque tendencies. It was timely marketing that I mistakenly took at face value. My bad and I am repenting in leisure.

Don't the perpetual "Bill was perfect" crowd believe that throwing the entire Democratic Party under the bus was fine, as long as Bill Clinton was able to maintain good approval ratings?

They had the ultimate say in how this was handled. Instead conclusions were jumped to and action was taken with zero facts available. If anything they are just as complicit in the events.

16. My position exactly
They have my vote because the alternative is worse but I was a foot soldier last time and my walking shoes are staying in the closet. I will do no more than I am obligated to. That's clearly all they deserve, heck, they don't even deserve that but I like my nose and would rather not cut it off to spite my face.

They've proven that more often than not, they do not have my back.

Good, don't defend, campaign, or stick by them. Just sit here and ridicule and slam the first decent admin we've had in years. If that works for you, go for it.

And if you think Vilsack had a knee-jerk reaction? Consider your own.

45. There is a troubling aspect, tho
Someone did react without an investigation. Someone in the WH issued a release saying the WH supported her termination.

Either way breitbart wins, first by crating disorder, next by us examining what really happened and asking why vilsack and the WH acted so poorly.

I'm sure it's happened in every admin since we started having them. That doesn't mean I'm ready to throw in the towel, and I bet they rectify their actions. And I sincerely hope they've learned a big fat lesson about trusting any sources w/o doing their own fact checking, not just r/w.

And I don't agree breitbart wins; it proves how duplicitous they are. For anyone who didn't realize that, this is a wake-up call.

But this is simply symptomatic of other admin. problems. They cave in too easily, too often. They appear to be without a spine. No wonder the poll numbers are so low.

BTW, I am not in a position of power to destroy a persons professional career based on a bullshit charge lobbed by a proven liar.

Vilsack is a paid executive wit responsibilities to all of us and should have shown more loyalty to his people than to be willing to throw a person under the bus for purely political reasons.
