Truman, Eisenhower, Clinton...... and Obama
In 1946, the Democrats lost congress.

In 1948, Truman won re-election.

In 1954, the Republicans lost control of congress.

In 1956, Ike won re-election.

In 1994, the Democrats lost congress.

In 1996, Clinton won re-election.

In 2012, Obama will win re-election........ Handily.

All of these are pre-Citizens United

and any meaningful campaign finance reform.

4. Politics is a cycle. Dems were not dead in 2000 or 2002 or 2004. Repubs were not dead
in 2006 or 2008. It will go back and forth over time, as it always does. Part of being in a two party system.

6. It'll depend on the state of the economy.
The same reason that soured Americans on Democrats this year will cost us the WH if the economy doesn't improve by 2012.

money only works if you have a message, can articulate it, and have an attractive candidate.....


they will have to carve a message that amounts to more than repeal heatlh care, impeach obama, and cut taxes.


if they can deal with education, immigration, unemployment....they have a chance....the leaders from these initiatives will emerge naturally if they commit to it and they will be the darkhouse 2012 candidate....not any of these default jokers romney, palin, huckabee, etc
