I support the cat food commission!
We need a commission formed to deal with the serious problem of cat food poisoning! Who's with me?

P&G Sunday recalled a small number of Iams Proactive Health Indoor Weight & Hairball Care dry cat food bags, which were recently sold in one or two Loveland, Colorado, stores.

The company said the cat food has the “potential” to be tainted with salmonella, a bacterium that can cause food poisoning. P&G, however, said it has not received any reports of illnesses linked to the pet food.

1. considering the number of beloved companions who died a couple of years ago in that tainted pet food
disaster, I would say we could use a catfood commission.

2. True.
Food inspection, even for pets, is one of those little things that get done better with a Democratic President and make a big difference.

3. that disaster is why so many of us are making our own pet food these days.
I also remember the lies we were told about the low number of deaths--according to vets on this board, they were working around the clock--the toll was horrendous.

4. I was just thinking along these lines yesterday. I was actually thinking of
writing to one of the networks asking for a follow-up to the pet food debacle two years ago. I'd like to know what pet food companies have done to prevent a recurrance.
