Colbert had a piece on Presidential candidates in 2012 and showed John Thune
("the guy nobody knows") at 2% in polls, but said "watch this guy because he looks like a president". When Thune is introduced to the public for the 2012 campaigns probably through Fox "news", IMO he will rise quickly in the polls because of his appearance. With this, Americans will demonstrate how dumbed down they are when only looks matter. Watch for it to happen, I agree with Colbert. The same goes for Rubio and his wife.

2. So now we're afraid of politicians because they're handsome?
I'll worry when Thune gets more attention than Mitch Daniels - which is setting the bar pretty low.

3. Colbert's piece was about "handsome" men who could be President, e.g., male models

and put Thune in the same group. (Daniels isn't handsome enough for today's TV oriented society)

4. Yep, he's the one I "fear" most...
.... and also ... and this is silly but you know it's true, he's TALLER than Obama. In a lot of ways, he's got all of Obama's physical attributes, but w/out "that pesky melanin."

I think Rubio will be a factor, but not until 2016. He wont be in the Senate long enough to have started a campaign.

But, in the end, Barack Obama is light years smarter than anyone they can offer. This may not appeal to the far right, but it will be what MOST Americans prefer (combined with all of his other positive characteristics.)
