Public/Private Job Creation Graph 1/2008 - 9/2010, nice work President Obama

?

President Obama took over at the depths of the George W. Bush Great Recession and immediately stopped the stunning increase in monthly job loss and reversed the trend. We have now witnessed 11 of the last 12 month's producing positive private sector job growth.

2. So put up another chart of how many jobs were outsourced and when.
I'm not sying Obama has stopped that problem, but when all the jobs are not here anymore why do you think they're coming back?
That's the reason I think this recession is hanging on so long. The jobs that were lost are not here anynore to come back!

3. What's that huge public sector drop-off?
I guess that represents the rate of *change* in public employment in perhaps June 2010, but it is a *negative* rate all of a sudden. What is that?

5. The census is part of that
They hired a bunch of people for census jobs. Doesn't seem to be all of that though. I wonder if the public sector jobs includes state government jobs.

6. What does this chart mean? Where are the X and Y axis indicators?
Seriously, this looks like something a school child makes in Excel.

Useless chart.

10. I think January and February will look better.
I am hearing of several companies that will be hiring nice chunks of workers and local/state government has managed to keep GE from closing. It sounds like the actual hiring will be after the first of the year.

11. Wow, its a graph!
A graph with no X axis to indicate dates and no Y axis details to indicate whether increments are in, what...1000s, perhaps?

In other words, a graph that doesn't mean very much in it's present form.

Who provided the graph? From what data source is the graphing created? Got a link?

12. Read the lead headline, 1/2008 to 9/2010
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 08:05 AM by mikekohr
and monthly job creation numbers are in thousands. President Obama took over at the point of greatest job loss, immediately reversed the trend and his policies have produced a return to positive job growth in record time. Is this fast enough for someone looking for a job? No. But this recovery is occurring with record speed. It is hard to recognize this midst the pain and suffering. But if we want to avoid the pain of recovery we have to quit electing the people causing the pain. Republicans.

here is a Little historical perspective
