This is what happens next if the tax cuts/UI extension deal passes
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 04:15 PM by Politics_Guy25
1. Senate ratifies START. Even 5 GOP SOS's support it.
2. Senate passes DREAM act-path to citizenship.
3. Senate passes DADT repeal. The 60 votes exist and more.

3 gigantic elements of the liberal agenda stand on the verge of passage if we pass this deal. Or we can get a pony instead. XD.

4. Don't forget...
7. Private debtors' prisons will become a reality and will be know as "Last-Chance Housing" for reformed "deadbeats"
8. Cities will be sold to corporations who will place a fee on all services, assessed through GPS technology: Go to school, daily fee; drive to work, daily fee; breathe the air, hourly fee.
9. "Eliminate the Middlemen" legislation passes eliminating the need for elections. Congress is dissolved and in place the Fortune 500 companies will simply send a representative to the new CorpoCongress.

8. Yes, but...
It won't be enough for the Obama haters here, not even close. Also millions who would have gone without unemployment will now be able to pay their bills and have some money to help them get through the winter months, and the holidays.

What gets me is so many here say the republicans will 'NEVER" give in, they will say no no matter what, and yet some of the same people think fighting them over the tax cuts is a good idea when the results will be NOTHING gets done, millions will go without money this winter, and they will be complaining because all the things you listed have NOT gotten done, plus it will give the republicans more ammo to say democrats have "raised" your taxes!

I just don't get it! I wish he would fight more also, but this time he "HAS" gotten a lot of things in his compromise, why is it never enough for the Obama haters? i know the right wing trolls love it, they have done their job well her at DU!

13. And yet they'd rather fight than get very important bills passed.
Mind boggling.

If the Dems were so interested in fighting (which we all know they really aren't), they could have waged this battle months ago. But they were too chickenshit because there was an election coming up. Their outrage is hollow and hypocritical.

18. I bet you thought we were getting a public option too.
Hell, they had the votes to pass it in reconciliation and 77% of the public supported it.

doing ANYTHING else. And they're STILL gonna lose in the end.
