1. That shit don't work on me no more
and yes i realize that is a badly worded sentence grammatically but still - I will NOT be forced into voting for Obama just because the republicans throw up some Sarah Palin boggyman meant to scare us into voting for someone we DO NOT WANT (Obama duh). We will either get a better Dem or I will write in Bernie Sanders in 2012. If SOME people think this kind of shit is going to work this time, that are sadly, sorely mistaken. And if that means president Palin in 2012 - god forbid - Obama will be the one to blame for betraying us, not US for wanting someone better. WTF people it's like the Democratic Party has turned into a bunch of battered housewives who are scared to stand up for what we believe in! Thank you Mr. Betrayer, may I have another? Ugh. :puke:

3. Well that's just like, your opinion man
or woman. Just cause YOU won't stand by your principles doesn't mean I, or many others won't. Continue to be a pawn for Dems who don't give a shit about you - matters not to me. I'd rather be pissed off and stand by my convictions than enable a president who is not only betraying us, but helping Republicans. Again, your choice to back him, mine not to. And I won't. I'll even send you a copy of my ballot to prove it. I hope like hell Obama does NOT get re-elected in 2012 - no matter the cost. It's war now.

23. You went from personalizing a cartoon to railing against an imagined adversary in record time!

4. President Palin will be YOUR fault and anyone who doesn't put a vote in the Dem column
It doesn't have to "work" for you.

It's simple vote arithmetic. Annoying and inconvenient to exonerating your privilege as an American citizen as it may be.

6. Again, I will not be blackmailed into voting for Obama by being threatened with Sarah Palin
But I can see why YOU like Obama so much - he gives into blackmail by republicans just like you do - you must be so proud of yourself!

You, AtomicKitten, NOBODY on this board is going to make me feel bad for standing up for what I believe in. You should stop emulating Obama and try it sometimes. I will not vote for Obama ever again. Period. Hold a fucking gun to my head and I still won't do it. It's HIS fault if Palin gets elected in 2012, not mine. It's the corrupt 2 party system we have that is at fault, not me. It's the blind unquestioning support of people like YOU who enable this shit to happen again, and again, and again, and again and is why we can't ever have a truly good, effective Dem in office because people like you cave in as bad as/worse than Obama.

Nader was right.

9. Get over yourself....
Your just one vote. Obama can win without it.

If you have a home and a family I hope you have job security. Principles are nice, but funny how they don't pay the mortgage or put food on the table. I'm not saying principles aren't important...but in this economy they can't be top priority. Survival has to come first or their won't be anyone around to practice good principles. I hope you don't have to learn that first hand.

10. Why don't you get over YOURSELF
and all your excuses you make for this sad pathetic excuse for a leader we have. You're embarrassing yourself, but I bet tax cuts for the rich sound pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good for a RichGirl. :eyes:

8. Maybe Obama cares more about betraying....
...those he talks to everyday who are out of work and have trouble feeding their families...than he does about betraying potential voters who will help him get re-elected. Imagine that...a president who doesn't seem to even care about his poll numbers, popularity or being a one-termer. We certainly can't have that...throw the bum out and get me someone who knows that his only job in his first term is campaigning for his second term and that means puckering up and kissing liberal ass.

When the democrats care more about sticking it to the rich than caring for the poor then there's no hope for anyone.

11. I agree with you 100%. We will get blamed for not suppporting
Obama when he loses but it is his fault along with all the enablers in congress and enablers here at DU that caused this to happen.

19. It seems that you don't really understand how voting works then.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-10 12:34 PM by cottonseed
Because writing in Bernie Sanders, or Franken, or Julian Assange, or whomever is basically a vote for Sarah Palin. Sorry. But that's how it works.

13. I'm Usually Opposed To Using Sarah Palin As A Boogeyman
But she could easily win if the economy goes south. She would be the favorite.

16. if?
If the economy goes south?

Tell me, what will the economy look like if it goes south? If someone like me were to ask you where the economy is today, which direction would I have to travel to get there? North?

14. And that is precisely how it will go..
All this talk about abandoning Obama is silly.

The Republicans will constantly be trying to do outrageous stuff with their House majority, Obama will stand against it, everyone will rally behind the President claiming that the progressive we know and love is back, all will be forgotten, etc.

When it comes time to vote, the alternative to Obama will be so bad that 99% of the people here will vote for the President.
