lol, aside from this past weekend, Harry usually doesn't bring things to the floor unless he has the votes for it .... #FingersCrossed

If you have not already called your Senators DO SO NOW!

12. Brown will do what its leadership tells him, as always.
(he already did that the first time, voting for it in committee then against it during the cloture motion vote. Same for Collins).

This said, Pryor saying he would vote for it and calling for a vote before the end of the year seems to say they have the vote.

As for Reid, he will vote for it, then change his vote if they do not get the 60 votes. This is how it is done.

8. The entire article is actually NOT positive - it suggests that it will be successfully filibustered
- not over DADT - but because the Republicans want an open process to make changes. They suggest that this will lead to a stripped down bill, without DADT being push next.

11. Me too
This seems a lot like before the election, where Collins was saying yes on DADT, but no because they were limited on amendments. There also an offer on the Senate floor not to filibuster if Reid agreed not to put up the Dream Act in the first n amendments (can't remember if n was 10 or 20)

Not to mention, there is still the issue of the Republican letter - as the tax cuts have not been passed.

I'm totally confused on what is real here.

10. Senator Levin thinks Dems have a 'good shot' at getting the 60 required cloture votes
Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich), the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a chief supporter of repeal, told reporters on Tuesday that Democrats have a "good shot" at getting the 60 votes necessary to start debating the defense bill.
