Gravel Says He Might Challenge Obama
Former Sen. Mike Gravel (D-AK), who ran for president in 2008, told the Daily Caller that he is mulling a primary challenge to President Obama in 2012.

3. Among other things, that would require Mike to rejoin the Democratic Party
Gravel, who couldn't raise a million bucks when he ran in 2008, who switched parties and sought the Libertarian party nomination after it was clear that he had no support among Democrats, and who will be 82 years old on election day 2012, is mulling a primary challenge to President Obama. I suppose he also may be mulling competing in the shotput in the 2012 Olympics. His chances are about the same in both competitions.

6. I can get on board with this
Obama has abandoned the Democratic party, embraced failed RW policies and openly admits he hates the left. Its time to move on.

Bring on a challenger

8. You didn't miss anything
This poster's needle has been stuck in the "Obama hates/has abandoned the Left" groove for a while.

13. It has been all over the news
He calls them the 'sanctimonious left' among other things. Obama has abandoned the left in favor of Bush economic policies that have collapsed the economy.

Obama hates liberals, liberalism, progressives and the left in general and he makes no attempt to hide it.

19. Find me the quote where Obama mentions to words
"sanctimonius left" where the quotation marks indicate that he used that exact phrase that you placed in quotation marks.

No other comment.Find me that exact phrase used by Obama.

24. I respectfully disagree.
I'm not sure what exactly has happened to Obama, but I doubt seriously that he hates the very people that put him in office. That's a bit absurd.

16. Good luck!
I am all for primary challenges against all incumbents. However, Gravel will not be a much of a threat, I don't think.
But in the name of democracy, I support Gravel's desire, and (potential) decision, to run.

30. As much as I love Ed...
...he has been way over the top lately - almost to the point of being unwatchable.

Still, Mike Gravel is not a serious candidate.

There will be no real primary challenge to President Obama. All these Democrats in the House and Senate currently wailing and screaming at Obama are the very same Democrats who did NOT take up these Bush tax cuts BEFORE the election when the fight really would have mattered.
