A response from Mike Pence (L-Liar) in regards to the email I sent him.
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 07:40 PM by and-justice-for-all
Thank you for contacting me regarding the expiring tax cuts created by the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 (P.L. 107-16) and the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003 (P.L. 108-27). It was a pleasure to hear from you.

As you know, multiple tax provisions are set to expire at the end of 2010. Allowing these tax cuts to expire would effectively be one of the largest tax increases in American history. It would increase income tax rates for most Americans, decrease the child tax credit, reinstate the marriage penalty, and reinstate the estate tax (death tax). The 2001 and 2003 tax cuts have allowed individuals and families to keep more money in their pockets as opposed to letting the government decide how to spend their hard earned wages. The federal government has a spending problem; raising taxes is not going to solve that.

For these reasons, I introduced the Tax Relief Certainty Act (H.R. 6415). This straightforward legislation would protect the current tax rates established by the Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001 and the Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003. It would also permanently abolish the death tax and provide permanent relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax. This legislation would assure the American People that their government is working in their best interests- rather than working against them- and it would ensure that no American is subject to a tax increase on January 1, 2011, thus making the tax provisions permanent.

Again, thank you for contacting me. It is an honor to serve in the United States House of Representatives and have the benefit of your advice. If you would like more information on this or any other issue, please visit my website at http://mikepence.house.gov and sign up to receive regular e-newsletters.

Warmest regards,

Mike Pence
Member of Congress

1. You know, we are really
on our own. The spending problem he addresses is SS, SSI, welfare, food stamps, everything that was a safety net. They don't care.

2. You expected different from that shitheel?
Something tells me I'll agree with Rand Paul more often than I would with Mike Pence, and that's a near-zero number as it is.
