5. Sanders is making a great case against the bill and for the people.
One point I really liked was him asking why Social Security was brought into this ugly mess when SS had nothing to do with our present jobless crisis. Leave the trust fund alone! It's a GOP trap.

I'm living in a 300 square foot room in an extended stay hotel that only has basic cable. It beats the bridge I'll be living under if my girlfriend's unemployment insurance expires.

Thanks for the update though...

19. Thought the tax compromise bill wasn't coming to the Senate till Monday...
How can he be filibustering something that hasn't even come up?

More theater probably. Get the screaming and yelling out of the way a day early so they can just vote on the White House/GOP bill straight away on Monday.

26. Shhhh
You'll spoil the narrative.

He's delaying business, which will probably end up delaying the bill somewhat.

For everyone who complains about missing "real filibusters", Bernie has to talk because he doesn't seem to have 40 votes to keep debate going on this.

42. Where did you read that?
According to the schedule I've seen, the tax cuts bill doesn't even hit the Senate till Monday.

This is not an actual filibuster from what I can tell, it's just a few Senators complaining about a bill that will come to the floor next week that he can't actually stop.

However rejection of this bill will be harmful to Obama's re-election chances.
Which is why the president will get this bill passed.

30. Good for Bernie. He's the only one with nerve enough to speak out.
We are probably the only ones listening to him, which is a shame, as he is bringing light to the dark recesses of the bailout and how it continues to hurt the little people.

Hopefully, the MSM is listening.

Only made 19 Billion dollar profit and paid nothing in taxes. Matter of fact they received $156,000,000.00 rebate from the IRS.

he's just talking. CNN and MSNBC both clarified that it's not really a filibuster, it just looks like one.
