As the President successfully shifts the focus to Republican infighting, how will the Corp
Edited on Wed Dec-15-10 10:52 AM by Supersedeas
Media cover the "principled objections" of Republicans.

So far, Republicans have managed with the laser-like focus of the National Television Networks to paint the 'loud left' as the unreasonable force working against compromise in Washington, without ever mentioning the clear threshold of obstruction originating in the filibuster-happy Senate whose Republicans refuse to consider bills already passed by the House until the super-wealthy get their tax cuts.

Now that Republican objections to the compromise are becoming more apparent, how will the Corp media frame objections now emerging from the right? Will they marginalize and trivialize these as meaningless objections and not mention them at all (nothing to see here--move right along)? Will "News" Producers develop the 'principaled' basis of these objections in a way that was not addressed when liberals raised objections? With Democrats, instead of looking at the merits of the objections, the Beltway Media just labeled it some-much-NOISE coming from the loud-left. Will the Media do something other than 'name-calling' in response to objections raised by Congress-critters on the right? Will Republicans get a free-ride or a free-pass from the National Beltway Media yet again.

Note the disparate treatment in the Media coverage that follows in the days to come as Republicans raise objections to the compromise deal.

When you find examples of it, please mention them here for others to review.
