Sarah Palin Reminds Me Of George Wallace In A Dress
If you think about it they both cloak their hatred in populist language, both can delivery fiery speeches that activated the inclined to agree reptilian brains. and both attacked so called liberal elites.

Somebody with more time should do a paper, essay, article on the similarities between the two...

3. Facing the end Wallace got it, and tried to back away from his hate mongering, Palin never will
She is a vicious grifter. A self promoting empty shirt. I hold out hope for most of my fellow man. But not Snarky Sarah. She will die a bitter, old, arrogant, tool. Unrepentant to the end.

19. I agree that Wallace changed
as he got older and wiser. Many blacks in Alabama actually liked much of what Wallace did in his later days as he had a genuine compassion for the poor.
Palin? Not nearly as smart intellectually as GW and lacks his ability to change.......in my opinion.

6. Palin just oozes hate and meanness
Think about it.
Does she ever say anything positive? Does she ever speak of her specific policy ideas or suggestions?
No.....all she does is spout snark, sarcasm and spittle.

9. Yes, but there is one huge difference.
Wallace had a change of heart, and begged forgiveness in the end. He apologized to the black civil rights leaders for being an asshole. I can't see Palin ever saying she was wrong about anything.

11. Palin can't hold a candle to Wallace.
Most of Wallace's views were odious, but his life story has actual relevant accomplishments in it, unlike Palin, who as far as anyone can tell has never done anything truly worthwhile except to skim big bucks from gullible right-wing republican fools. Can anyone produce anything about Palin resembling this excerpt from Wallace's Wikipedia article?

Wallace was fascinated with politics from the age of 10, winning a contest to serve as a page for the Alabama Senate in 1935 and confidently predicting that he would one day be governor. Wallace became a regionally successful boxer in high school, then went directly to law school at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1937. He was a member of the Delta Chi Fraternity. After receiving a law degree in 1942, he entered pilot cadet training in the Air Force. He washed out, became a staff sergeant and flew B-29 combat missions over Japan in 1945.

(snip)

In 1953, he was elected Circuit Judge in the Third Judicial Circuit of Alabama. Here he became known as "the fightin' lil' judge," a reference to his boxing days. He gained a reputation for fairness regardless of the race of the plaintiff, and a black lawyer recalled, "Judge George Wallace was the most liberal judge that I had ever practiced law in front of. He was the first judge in Alabama to call me 'Mister' in a courtroom."

So Wallace served in the military and spent time as a "liberal" judge. (Who knew?) Note that his dream from age 10 was to be the governor, a dream that was eventually fulfilled. In contrast, here's what you find in Palin's article:

Palin played flute in the junior high band, then attended Wasilla High School where she was the head of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of the girls' basketball and cross country running teams. During her senior year, she was co-captain and point guard of the basketball team that won the Alaska state championship, earning the nickname "Sarah Barracuda" for her competitive streak.

In 1984, Palin won the Miss Wasilla beauty pageant. She finished third in the Miss Alaska pageant playing flute in the talent portion of the contest, and receiving both the Miss Congeniality award and a college scholarship.

After graduating from high school, Palin enrolled at the University of Hawaii in Hilo. Shortly after arriving in Hawaii, Palin switched to Hawaii Pacific University for a semester in the fall of 1982 and then North Idaho College in the spring and fall of 1983. In June 2008, the Alumni Association of North Idaho College gave her its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. She attended the University of Idaho in the fall of 1984 and spring of 1985, and attended Matanuska-Susitna College in the fall of 1985. Palin returned to the University of Idaho in the spring of 1986, receiving her bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in 1987.

After graduating, she worked as a sportscaster for KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Anchorage, and as a sports reporter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, fulfilling an early ambition.

OK. Palin played flute, played sports, and won beauty contests before attending five colleges to get a four-year degree and subsequently becoming a sportscaster and sports reporter. (Her early ambition was to be a sports reporter rather than, say, governor.) No law degree, no military service, no judgeship.

Like it or not, there really is no comparison between the empty Wasilla grifter and George Wallace.

12. Ms. WolfKiller is one of the biggest frauds ever foisted on the American public
Everything about her is phony.
There are people in her home state that know a whole lot about her but most of them have been silenced because of fear of retribution from her or the Toad.
She has a history of revenge, meanness and paybacks to those not on-board with her agenda.
It's why she polls so badly with women.
Most women see right through her because they knew somebody just as mean and nasty in Junior High School.
The men she polls well with are fantasizing about "doing her".
Yeah, men CAN be that shallow...;-)

17. Wallace may have apologized to black civil rights leaders,
but he didn't do it as a genuine act of atonement: he did it with an eye on the upcoming 1982 gubernatorial race in Alabama, an election in which he knew the black vote would be critically important. He also announced that he had become a born-again Christian at about that same time, for very similar reasons-- votes. Say what you will about ol' George, but he knew which way the wind was blowing. I'm sure that if he had lived a few more years, he would certainly have jumped to the Republican party as soon as he felt the political climate was right.

Regarding the populist appeal of Palin today and that of Wallace from 30 to 40 years ago, though, I'm reminded of Wallace's response when asked late in his life about the racist nature of his earlier rhetoric. Wallace said: "You know, I tried to talk about good roads and good schools and all these things that have been part of my career, and nobody listened. And then I began talking about niggers, and they stomped the floor."

Wallace knew that he was full of shit. I don't think Palin does.
