Troops Squatting in Senate for DADT
By Michelle Garcia

A group of service members will announce Friday that they plan to sit in the Senate gallery until the "don't ask, don't tell" repeal is passed.

With one week left until the Senate adjourns for the holiday, some repeal advocates are worried about the bill's fate. The protesters will be joined by Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, according to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network.

"Service members are making it absolutely clear that Senators need to stay in town until repeal is passed," Aubrey Sarvis, Army veteran and SLDN executive director, said in a statement Thursday. "We simply cannot let the clock run out and lose this historic opportunity. We need 60 votes to complete the bill and send it directly to the President’s desk. We need to fight back on any amendments as a change to the language will cause further delay."

2. Good for them. I just got off the phone with both of my Senators' offices.
16 minutes and 48 seconds hold time to get through to Nelson. Immediate access to the Republican Senator. But I've registered my request with both of them to vote to repeal.
