2. That is a classy move by the WHite House. Lt. Dan Choi deserves to be
at the signing. He has fought hard for the repeal and risked so much.

6. Is Dan Choi out of the hospital yet?
I think that is why Obama isn't signing the bill until Wednesday.
So that everyone can get to DC in time for the historic signing :)

I heard that waiting for everyone to be there was why it wasn't until Wednesday.
I don't know if that specifically means Dan Choi or not, but it would make sense.

35. All I know is....
.... reading my Twitter timeline today, there was one mention of Choi (and someone else) receiving phone calls inviting them to come and about an hour later, the WH announced the time. You have to wonder right?

Alva is the one that came out publicly against what General Amos said.

18. Choi have no business being there
His behavior towards the president was despicable, even AFTER Saturday's vote. He's all about the publicity. Lucky for him, Barack Obama is so above everyone around him. People always think they’re taking the higher ground, then they look ahead and see Obama is already standing on it.

Choi truly helped make this happen.

And you're right. Obama is certainly standing on higher ground than you.

However it must be said that whatever way he was acting could be induced by his PTSD.

24. Choi paid his dues by getting arrested several times outside of the White House
Edited on Mon Dec-20-10 08:51 PM by Tx4obama
chaining himself to the WH fence, constantly speaking about about the discrimination towards gays in the military, losing is job, being disappointed time and time again, etc.

Yes, in the past couple of months, Choi did say a few things that were not very positive about Obama in October
article here:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/21/dan-choi-barack-obama_n_771634.html
-- BUT you have to understand that Choi has been under a lot of stress -- stress that brought on exhaustion and put him in the hospital.

Apparently President Obama isn't holding a grudge against Choi for what he said, therefore perhaps those of us that were not directly involved in what happened between Choi & Obama shouldn't either ;)

27. Choi is like Cindy Sheehan. The right cause and more than a right to have the cause....
...but at a certain point, if your attitude and behavior starts to turn people off, then you might be hurting your cause and you should consider toning it down a notch, even if, deep down, you are completely justified.

33. Hmmmm.
One of these people was fired because he was a target of bigotry, and reacted by becoming a civil rights activist.

The other was the boss responsible for enforcing the bigoted policy and getting him fired along with many others who did nothing wrong other than being part of an oppressed minority.

I'm confused over your assessment of who was on higher ground.
