PPP: GOP trending more Conservative
That's supposed to be breaking news.Anyone with half a brain can see that. Moderate and liberal republicans are NON EXISTENCE in that party. When all is said and done I think Mitt Romney still is the favorite to win the nomination because of the way the rethugs system is set up.Basically it's his turn http://publicpolicypolling.blogspot.com/2010/12/gop-electorate-trending-conservative.html

1. Yep. Just listen to Arlen Specter's farewell speech.
He rattled off a list of names of republican Senators that were in office when he first joined the Senate. Every last one of them would likely have been driven out of the party, just like Specter was. As was the son of one of those on his list--Lincoln Chaffee. The party has been taken over by its extremists, which is being illustrated perfectly by Tom Coburn and his 9/11 Responders Bill shenanigans.

3. There's only so much room on the right. To remain relevant, they
have to.

4. Agree with your comments - and find it hard to think they can go much further to the right
- but that has been their movement since the 1970s.
