Poll stunner: Birthers are half of GOP primary voters
• 51 percent of likely primary voters nationwide think President Obama wasn’t born in the United States

• 28 percent think he was born here, 21 percent aren't sure

• Among those who don’t think he was born in U.S., Sarah Palin has 83 percent favorability ratings

• Mike Huckabee follows with 64 percent favorability among birthers

• But Huck wins a birther primary with 24 percent of the vote (Palin 19 percent, Gingrich 14 percent)

Why don't they ask them if they're 'christians' in the next poll?

It's the American Taliban that's doing ALL the extreme things and the media refuses to report that!

1. The Birthers and the Tea Party are the GOP's insane base.
Always have been ... give them a cross, a flag, a gun ... and a TARGET (gays immigrants, minorities, liberals), and they are happy.

3. And this why Boehner said the following:
"It's not my job to tell the American people what to think," Boehner said. "The American people
have the right to think what they want to think."

4. Right, Boehner. Those pesky facts just get in the way of extreme nuttery.

5. I don't think anyone who's listened to teabaggers for the last 2 years finds this 'stunning'.
These are the same dolts that don't want the federal government getting involved in Medicare and think cutting taxes INCREASES government revenue. The same ones who think there are millions of lazy minorities sitting around collecting welfare and living pretty and that THAT is the main cause of our budget deficit.

They are fucking hopeless retards, and Sarah is their chosen one.

6. Let's all rush to the defense
of Obama. How dare you nasty Republicans think such things!

I remember the 1990s when outrageous attacks on Bill Clinton were 24/7. Republicans said the most ridiculous things. Chris Matthew's program on MSNBC might as well have been called the "Let's get Clinton Show". This was all just part of the smoke screen. Those of us on the left defended Clinton while he signed NAFTA, the Telecommunications Act and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act -a right wing agenda.

It was all part of an act, a smoke screen. Who give a shit what these knuckle draggers think? This is a designed action to distract us from the real danger. The only thing that should concern us is what kind of legislation Obama signs. He already extended the Bush tax cuts for billionaires. They can't cut social security without his signature.

7. I know I shouldn't find this surprising, but ignorance on a massive scale is always shocking to me.
Wow, just wow.

9. I wish I could say I was stunned.
Alas, that poll just confirms my worst fears about a fat chunk of my fellow citizens. Sad, but not surprising.
