6. It's the contingency plan,

Which involved ignoring O'Donnell and talking about selective service papers, which is even less relevant.

9. Obama has a Connecticut SS #
The first three numbers are the state from which it's issued. I was born in Wisconsin but have an Illinois SS#. So the nuts are saying it's a fake or something.

22. I think they are saying,
the Connecticut SS# on his college application is different than the one on his Selective Service form. The more they talk, the less sense they make, but there are people eating this stuff up. I made the mistake of straying onto a birther blog and read some of the comments. I don't know what I was thinking!

GOOD FOR YOU LAWRENCE !!!! i HAVE RESPECT FOR YOU for not letting that piece of crap Orly go off on some stupid tangent. I hope on Monday when she has her "little" court date.... that they heave her rotten carcass in jail where she belongs.

WAY TO GO MSNBC for letting Lawrence go off on that moron DONALD TRUMP.
I'm phoning NBC tomorrow to complain about Trump and ask that they cancel his show.

13. This whole rediculous issue confirms without a doubt the conservative brain is defective.
To them lies are facts and facts are lies... depending on how it benefits them personally and politically.

15. Does anyone know what on earth
she was talking about? The paper was Obama's Selective Service form (supposedly fraudulent). I tried doing a Google search, but can't find anything that makes any sense - a lot about Social Security numbers.

I knew she wasn't going to apologize. It was pretty much a replay of her interview with David Shuster from a couple years ago. Her kind of crazy just gets crazier.

30. that's why O'Donnell shouted over her
so that you wouldn't learn of a new crackpot theory via his show.

his yelling was appropriate for that reason alone.

31. I agree
though I don't think it was appropriate to have her on the show. If O'Donnell actually thought she was going to apologize, he was quite alone. I was impressed with him calling out NBC in regards to Trump, but the whole Orly Taitz interview looked like a silly sideshow. I'm inclined to think that he knew how it was going to play out.

18. He shouted over her to stop her from slandering Obama
and call it a meltdown, but he was right to stop her from using his venue to lie and slander someone.

if you think he should've allowed her to do that consider this (from Dante):

"And he to me: "This miserable way
is taken by the sorry souls of those
who lived without disgrace and without praise.

They now commingle with the coward angels,
the company of those who were not rebels
nor faithful to their God, but stood apart.

The heavens, that their beauty not be lessened,
have cast them out, nor will deep Hell receive them -
even the wicked cannot glory in them."

24. I think he should have cut her off.
Edited on Wed Apr-27-11 11:48 PM by vaberella
From when she started asking for the close up he should have just cut her off and said it's over. The shouting he was doing was ridiculous and made him look bad. Not her, not any worse than she already has anyway.

19. The way I saw it, she totally ignored the BC issue against whatever they agreed
when they had her on.

Of course, he should've known better, but I don't have any problem with him shouting this nut off the air. It was clear that she was completely going to pretend that the result of the shitstorm she helped create didn't even play out today.

25. I tend to have a problem with it...
Mainly because we might be whatever. But it just plays into the left badgering people on the right. And we may play ourselves as different from people like Hannity or O'Reilly but when you see these things happen, they look similar.

23. Yes, he did.
But it was warranted because the woman didn't want to talk about the BC. I am sure that's why he asked her to be on the show. And btw, this is not the first meltdown he has had so she should have known that.

26. No it's not.
The situation was to be expected for both. Orly Taitz was out of the public eye for ages and then he puts her on, it's like resurrecting a dead body---but his reaction was ridiculous when he sees she hasn't gotten a clue. The close-up call should have been his first tip---and I would have cut her off. Not start screaming at the woman. You can't really reason with the crazies.

32. I agree with you. LO surely knew she is crazy and would start
talking nonsense. He should have been the one who stayed calm and rational, even when challenging her and cutting her off. Anyone who watched this without knowing the background would have thought she was trying to present information and he was drowning her out to prevent it, just like rightwingers do when they don't want the facts to be heard.

He's smart enough to have handled it better, I think he was just throwing out some red meat for his audience.
