1. They wouldn't let him wear a flightsuit or play with the firetruck sirens
So he threw a tantrum and said 'I ain't going'

3. I just think Junior is lazy. I bet it has nothing to do with politics.
LOL - well maybe not, but it did cross my mind.

4. To have the man there who failed to protect his country...
...and the strong likelihood that he'd be greeted with a chorus of boos and jeers, would not have been a good thing. His friendly media was able to dub over the booing and catcalls when he appeared at baseball games, but they wouldn't be able to control this situation. First smart decision Bush ever made.

5. Bush is terrified of crowds
Always has been if he has no control over who is present. Bush and Cheney were terrified of being assassinated. That is evident by them only speaking where they controlled who was there. I think they are both still terrified. It must be awful to be so scared of everything and everybody.

6. I think Bush realizes that the comparison that would inevitably be made between him
and someone who actually looks and acts Presidential would not be favorable for him. If he can't be top dog, he's not going.

7. You kid, but the difference in visuals is worth noting
Bush's most powerful moment has him standing on a pile of rubble - symbolizing the destruction of a powerful American symbol.

Obama will be standing before the "Liberty Tower" under construction - symbolizing our rebirth, renewal and reconstruction.

Just saying.

10. Bush's peak was throwing a baseball in Yankee stadium. Empty Spectacle as Frank Rich called it
his numbers plunged after that and dropped off the table after Katrina

9. He probably didn't want to stand next to Obama and look like he was

2 inches tall by comparison (because of what Obama accomplished not actual height, of course). Who can blame him.
