Tell him he has my vote on his debt plan, then vote against it

It would make Bonner look like a horrible leader (which he is) but it would be a giant embarrassing blow for the speaker that would allow little Eric to make a run for the crown.

If his own debt plan fails in the house he is done

1. We'll see pretty soon how that pans out.
Are the 'baggers so far gone that they'll torpedo Boehner rather than go with their previous lockstep GOP solidarity when it comes to coming up against the Dems?

Is this Cantor's opportunity to weaken Boehner to the point of taking over? Or do the 'baggers have someone else in mind.

4. If and when the time comes I don't think Cantor will have a chance.
He's probably not too popular among the old guard, and the tea baggers aren't likely to accept him as the real deal. As I recall there was even anti-semtic grumbling about him having the current leadership role.

2. I have to think it will pass
But it does look dicey as hell right now.

Agree that if the Boehner plan goes all Hindenberg, he's finished as Speaker.

3. I think it'll pass. He'll get the troops in line, but your hunch about Cantor is spot on. (nt)

6. Question is how will Cantor vote?
If he votes against the Boner's plan, he will be perceived as disloyal and open the door for the other Repubicans to be disloyal to him once he ascends to the throne.
