12. Then why is the unemployment still over 9%, down from a high of 10.1% almost a year ago?
http://www.miseryindex.us/urbymonth.asp

In January of 2009 the unemployment rate was 7.8%

Am I missing something, or is something not adding up?

14. Because over 8 million jobs were lost in George W. Bush's Great Recession, thats why
It will take time to backfill the economic black hole that was dug during that 8 year national nightmare. If we wish to avoid the pain and long climb back from economic FUBAR we have to quit electing the jackasses causing the problems in the first place, namely Republicans.

It is no co-incidence that 9 of the last 10 recession have occured under Republican leadership. See: http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html

And here is the 70 year record on job creation:

16. Here's a newer version ... it makes the same point as the OP, plus another ...

As you can see, prior to the stimulus, we were losing private sector jobs all through 2008 and an accelerating pace.

During 2009, starting immediately after the stimulus passed in Feb 2009, the loss trend reverses.

We then begin to GAIN private sector jobs, by March 2010 (so within one year of the stimulus).

Notice the spike in public sector jobs there, those are most likely associated with the census effort. And notice those go away in the next 4 months. They were temporary jobs.

But as you can see, from March 2010, up until now, we've been adding private sector jobs. Oh, and those public sector job loses in the most recent months ... we can thank the GOP Governors for those.

20. Is Obama running against Bush?
Because 9.2% unemployment is a ticket to a single term presidency. Also, people don't care if the government or a corporation is signing their checks.

24. None of this has ever happened before. To declare a one-term Presidency is a bit short-sighted.
