PPPoll: Rubio approval rating high in Florida but he would not help as VP

Another PPPoll ... this time with the finding that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, as a VP running mate, would not help deliver Florida for Republicans.

"There are actually more voters in the state- 36%- who say Rubio on the ticket would make them less likely to vote for the GOP than there are- 30%- who say Rubio as the VP would enhance their chances of supporting the Republican candidate. 34% say it wouldn't make a difference to them either way," the poll found.

Voters might not be interested in a Rubio VP candidacy but he continues to have pretty solid approval numbers in the state. 44% think he's doing a good job to 39% who disapprove. Rubio's approval has been steadily in the 42-44% range all year. His disapproval has ticked up with each poll we've done from 31% in March to 35% in June to now 39% on our late September poll.

1. He hasn't done anything
How in the world does he even have any approval??

ANd won't the Tea-Baggers heads explode if he were on the ticket?? I mean his parents weren't born here and all. But it's OK he's a Repuke. Makes it all better. That's what's wrong with that party . . .

3. that will disappoint so many
who worked so hard to steal credibility from meek and give it to crist
so many DLC hacks came out of the woodwork to help rubio and then scurried back into the walls like the cockroaches they are
some now walk around spouting off about "party unity' like it means anything to them other than how they get what they want
any person who advocated for crist over meek is the enemy of the democratic party and should be shit heaped

5. Rubio's negative numbers on the climb all year----oh, dear, Jeb.
Just after last November's election:

Like Rick Scott, Rubio garnered less than 50% of the vote. But that won't stop the frenetic hype., January 1, 2011

From Public Policy Polling, October 5, 2011:

.....

(Rubio's) disapproval has ticked up with each poll we've done from 31% in March to 35% in June to now 39% on our late September poll.

.....

Meanwhile, the usual suspects dial up the shouting.

And, just hot off the presses:

Rubio shuts door on VP nod, October 5, 2011

AP via Politico:

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio says he's not going to be the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2012 because he's focused on being a U.S. senator.

Speaking at a political forum in Washington, Rubio said flatly: "I'm not going to be the vice presidential nominee." He then repeated himself.

Rubio said he didn't run for the Senate "to have a launching pad for another job."

.....

As noted by Politico, politicians make all sorts of declarations, but that last line Rubio uttered will be difficult to overcome, if and when "things change".

Time to step back into the shadows for a bit, Rubio. Not to worry, Jeb Bush will keep you company.
