3. Wonder why?
I wish he'd make a statement in support of Occupy Wall Street. The silence so far has been deafening.

6. This is from earlier.
President Obama made his first public comments on the growing Occupy Wall Street protests in a press conference on Thursday. "I think it expresses the frustrations that the American people feel that we had the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression, huge collateral damage all throughout the country, all across Main Street, and yet you're still seeing some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to fight efforts to crack down on abusive practices that got us into this problem in the first place." He went on, "So yes, I think people are frustrated and the protesters are giving voice to a more broad-based frustration about how our financial system works."

24. Compare to what he said almost two years ago.
"I did not run for office to be helping out a bunch of fat cat bankers on Wall Street," Mr. Obama said in an interview on CBS's "60 Minutes" program on Sunday.

"They're still puzzled why is it that people are mad at the banks. Well, let's see," he said. "You guys are drawing down $10, $20 million bonuses after America went through the worst economic year that it's gone through in -- in decades, and you guys caused the problem. And we've got 10% unemployment."

12. He better tread carefully, though.
As mentioned, he did say something about Occupy - and noted that we have good reason to be upset about what's going on.

But he better think twice if he wants to get too involved in this. This is a truly grassroots movement - and it needs to stay that way. Meanwhile, Obama has a country to govern.

14. When you start fighting for what's right instead of playing the
bi-partisan spin, it works. He looks strong and like a leader. His recent take them to the mat is really resonating. People like strength and a vision. He needs a vision that people can feel. He needs to listen to the 99%... The pukes and tea party terrorists need to sit down and shut up... They've had wayyy too much bombastic air play.

19. The 83% must have no problem with BHO having put the machinery in place for
social security and Medicare to soon be eviscerated or consider this fruition of a licentious RW wet-dream but a mere piffle in the big scheme of things. Sadly, it will not be a just mere piffle for the millions who will be severely adversely impacted as they realize and watch the uber wealthy and large corporations continue to disgracefully and fervently suck at the public welfare teat. :patriot:

25. And right below that.
"October 7, 2011
Obama's September Approval Rating Remains at Term-Low 41%"

I am curious as to how they determined who is a liberal Democrat and what the specific question was asked to elicit that response.

26. I have a feeling the "question" they asked was
"Are you a Democrat?" and if so, "do you consider yourself liberal, moderate or conservative."

Not all that hard to figure out if you're not trying to push some type of agenda.

Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 06:55 PM by NorthCarolina
is to foster a belief amongst Liberals that their counterparts are solidly behind Obama, and so they should be too. For those that are motivated by sound bites, and not particularly inclined to fact check sources, it might just work.

Edited on Sun Oct-09-11 12:27 AM by iamthebandfanman
are you a liberal?

not, heres some policies .. which set best describes you...

if youre a democrat, you must be a liberal (in the eyes of most people)..

the right wing has been very effective on scewing the definition of liberal and progressive

just like id dare say most folks think socialism is a form of government, rather than an economic system....
again, the right has been very effective ;)

30. most of my friends who identify
themselves as liberal democrats have told me they are very let down by the president,
but if they do go vote theyll definitely be voting for him again.

i told them they better go vote, even if its not for him ;)

i dont like it when people say they arent going to vote.. you should cherish one of the rights youre given in this country ;)
