Values Voter Summit has no values and no voters (Straw poll: Perry 4th, Romney 6th)

Values Voter Summit has no values and no voters

by Kaili Joy Gray

The American Taliban has once again assembled for its annual laughably named Values Voter Summit, featuring a full roster of appearances by their favorite bigots, nut jobs and candidates for the Republican presidential nomination. (Wait, that's sort of redundant, isn't it?)

For the third year in a row, they just happened to coincidentally schedule the summit during the holiest day of the Jewish calendar because when they talk about values voters, they really only mean the Jesus-y kind of values: hating the poor, hating women, hating gays, hating brown people, hating science. Just like Jesus did. And no, Mormons don't count. Sorry, Mittens.

Let's just see what kind of crazy is on parade this year, shall we?

  • What's most important to "values voters" in selecting a candidate to lose to President Obama next year? Hating abortion? Health care? Education? Maybe it's tax cuts for millionaires. Maybe it's rewriting the Constitution. Take the poll now!

    4. I don't blame him, I guess. He's putting everything on NH. But if he wins the nomination,

    6. I don't see how he can win. He's at 8 in the latest NH poll--down from 10.

The latest WMUR Granite State poll shows Romney solidly in first place with 37 percent support, followed by Cain, who is in second place with 12 percent, and Ron Paul, who captured 9 percent. Jon Huntsman is in fourth place with 8 percent.

The New Hampshire survey is the latest to report an uptick in support for Cain after his upset victory at Florida’s Presidency 5 straw poll — and a decline in the fortunes of Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann.

    9. That's good to know...
I thought Huntsman would end up taking 2nd place in NH if not 1st. I guess he'll be finished soon.

    8. I any candidate embraces science like Huntsman did...
you can't expect to do well at a "Voter Value Summit"! I think Romney has made some pro-science comments as well & he did not do well either.

It should be renamed "Dumb Voter Summit"!

    10. True. This is not the time for a rational Repub. to win the nomination...
which is good news for us.

    7. They don't even realize that christianity is based on the Jewish religion.
And that Roman Catholicism is the first official christian religion.

Or that the christian religion is mostly based on the writings of Paul who never met Jesus but claimed to have seen him in a vision.
