Between the African American Community and Occupy Wall street protesters thats what I take from this the CORPORATE MEDIA whores have been trying to denigrate the protesters all week long I WONDER WHY!! maybe it's because they work for the same Corporations that they are protesting

3. Even after reading this it still seems rather disrespectful. If he wasn't offended I'm not
But the Occupy movement should be welcoming to protest movement heroes especially during planning session where they have the most to add.

5. Not in the establishment phase. When they've set themselves up, I am certain he will return to...
...great fanfare. Just be patient.

9. Agreed - but they will need to be careful not to be seen as a non-diverse movement
It will be important to ensure that many diverse voices are heard as this moves forward since the media often gravitates toward white folks and can leave the impression that this is a "white" movement. The organizers will have to make sure that this doesn't happen.

6. there has been real problems with separate people trying to control the Atlanta group
One faction in particular going even as far as trying to stall the group by claiming they needed permits in order to go to Woodruff park.

The infighting is pretty fierce, from what I'm hearing. It does seem like the *permit* side may also have connections to a local tbagger group -- and that might be why the delaying tactics are being deployed.

7. Now that is what I have been expecting to see - they have great
examples to follow in the obstructionist gop representatives.

10. Take a tip from the Tea Party....
I was reading up on when and how the Tea Party movement started. There are different accounts (if you read Rand Paul, it'll sound like he started it all by himself!), but one thing seems true. It's that they didn't let politicians get involved at the beginning. They wanted it to be, and remain, a people's movement, and not hijacked or associated with any political leaders.

It seems to have worked. I'm thinking that that kept the news focused on THEM, not any politicians that might've been speaking there. It left their message open for interpretation on some issues.

11. I saw a clip of this on TV. It was very rude. Rep. Lewis looked hurt....
one guy shouting out Lewis' name, then the group would repeat in unison, shouting. I didn't catch what the lead guy was saying, but it wasn't good, judging by the look on Lewis' face.

How awful. Man. Who are those people in Atlanta? They may not even know who he is?
