Is The Cain Train Already Slowing Down ?
I notice in the new CNN Poll he is already losing to Romney by a point after earlier polls showed him leading Romney and gaining momentum. I know his leads were in the MOE but he seems to be losing ground.

When we do we get to say "Herman, we hardly knew ya."

5. except the previous CNN poll had Cain with only 7%, so he has skyrocketed in their newest poll
You have to compare it to the earlier CNN poll not other polls, and if you do that it will show that Cain is surging.

6. We Need To Wait For More Polls To Confirm My Thesis
But if you look at the latest set of polls his momentum has clearly stalled.

7. Now if the next PPP poll shows him falling and then the next CNN poll shows him falling, yes
but you can't compare one poll to another poll.

8. You Should Be Able To
Polls are supposed to be "scientific" and if my memory of eighth grade science is correct the benchmark of the scientific process is you should be able to duplicate the results.

15. Why are you against a Cain surge?
Cain will lose in general from lack of votes from the center. Romney could get a slim majority of centrist voters.

9. It's an interesting race
There have so far been three popular alternatives to Romney. Bachmann, Perry, and Cain. And all three seem to go down around two weeks after they gain popularity. Romney's numbers have always stayed the same and i believe he will win the nomination.

12. I know, but they have to nominate somebody. None of the other GOP candidates have anything
to help the average American either.

11. I hope not!
Assuming that Romney will win the nomination in the end, I'd love to see Cain still so close at that point that Romney decides to make Cain his running mate.

Ya gotta have a dream, and right now, that's mine. (It used to be a Palin/Bachmann ticket, but I finally gave that one up.)

17. Cain is too much of a loose cannon to be tolerated much longer by the folks who think he's so
entertaining now.

Once the white right wing Republicans who think he's so great figure out that he's not one of those "good Negroes" but is really a craven self-promoter who will turn on them if he thinks it advances his interests, they'll kick him to the curb.

18. Yep, it's derailing
I think after tonight his numbers will start going down, but he will still be in second place because the "real" Rick Perry came out tonight, and it was a pretty sight at all! Perry is toast!
