End all overseas occupations. (petition)
In an effort to thwart wasteful spending, it is only a responsible act to end ALL US overseas occupations and war mongering. By occupations, it should not be limitied to the Middle East, but also the closure of US bases in Europe, Korea and Japan.

This does not only save billions of dollars, it would also bring thousands of US troops home. Those same troops could then be placed in a national infrastructure Corps. which would work to repair/replace our failing infrastucture and building the a High Speed Rail System in the US.

By not spending billions on unecassary military occupations (a few illegal ones of course) those funds should then be pumped back into Public Education as well as Medicare (which should then be open to anyone who wants to sign up for NHS "National Health Service".

1. Sorry, I can't sign...
....while I strongly support the right of people to "petition for redress", I believe in taking that role seriously, not using it for pontificating. The US is not currently "occupying" any foreign nation, and the choice of the word "warmongering" is irresponsible in my opinion. It is possible to make perfectly legitimate economic and political arguments in favor of ending our foreign military activities; this isn't the way to do it.

4. I highly disagree.

the US currently occupies many foreign nations, including the middle east and is still currently engaged in an illegal war in Iraq and Afghanistan. To say that the US does not occupy any foreign nations is absurd and yes, warmongering is quit activity.

6. I don't like the term "occupation" in this context, but
I certainly think we the people need to tell our goverment that it is time to have much less faith in the use of military force to improve the lot of human beings on this planet. As your petition suggests, there are better things the government can do. The benefits of most of our wars are highly speculative, the costs are certain, large and immediate, and include killing many innocent people as collateral damage. Why not eliminate and treat diseases, give foreign economic aid, discourage terrorism by not doing things that inspire hatred towards us? It's time for the people to turn against militarism and drag our leaders by the ears in that direction.
