3. They really think this is going to work for them.
And sadly, they might be right. I don't have a lot of faith in my countrymen.

7. I have been thinking about this for some time now
and have come to the conclusion that they believe they will take the 2012 Presidential election regardless of what they do; they can manipulate the results of the literal voting or they can simply buy the election. There has to be some reason they are behaving so irrationally (and openly so), so I assume it is one or both of those reasons I mentioned. One way or another, it appears they think the fix is in.

Sam

10. I would find it only fitting if his obstructionist ways in the attempt to
oust Obama, only lost him his own position. I'm not too familiar with politics in Kentucky, but I do hope someone really awesome runs against him and brings up the ways he's prevented any useful policy to get the economy and especially hiring back on track.

22. McConnell's biggest mistake is saying his only important goal
or reason for being is to oust Obama. Obviously McConnell has no interest in the welfare of this country. He is worse than a dinosaur; he is a traitor to this country.

12. I don't think they have done any harm at all to the GOP.
Remember the GOP is full of people who voted for Bush twice. The base is comprised almost entirely of bigoted, ignorant , freedom hating lunatics who get their news from rush and hannity. These people will blame the economic mess and lack of jobs on Obama.

Nothing that we do or say, nothing that the 'leadership' of the GOP does or says will make these people change the voting habits.

They may have done some harm with independent voters but I doubt it.

legislatures and governors' offices. They are not hurting.

14. I don't understand how people think he is "killing the GOP"?
They won back the House despite the fact they played a major role in destroying the economy, Birther movement, Death Panels, FEMA Camps, etc., Now they could very well take full control of all 3 branches of Government in 2012.

Just because "WE" see what they say is nothing but LIES & deception that does not translate to the American public seeing the same thing...History is proof the American public quickly forgets or forgives the GOP for the disasters they create & the utter failures they have had & the LIES they tell (Like their #1 priority if elected in 2010 would be JOBS JOBS JOBS) as compared to the Democratic Party who the American People keep on a very short rope & do not give them credit for the accomplishments they have had.

I just think it is reckless to think what the GOP is saying & the fact that they are clearly trying to increase the suffering of the middle class in hopes they will turn on Obama (Which is working) will actually backfire on the GOP...I hope it does as much as anyone here but so far the only thing I have seen is the exact opposite!

Until the American People hold the republican Party accountable for their lies, crazy talk & playing politics with people's lives then I cannot lie to myself & think the Republicans will kill themselves by acting & saying the things they do.

Right Wing Christian Authoritarians who appear to be dumb just like they are...Many Americans look at those of us who have an education as "elitist" who are out of touch with "Real America"! It si really sad because these same people are the ones who are being crushed by the policies of these Right Wing Christian Authoritarians!

27. Well, according to many of the "99%" I have seen...
on You Tube videos & the comments around here...They plan on sacrificing Obama to prove their power & to teach Obama & the Democrats a lesson.

Where they plan to go from there is anyone's guess.

So, I would not count the GOP out just yet because one thing is for sure they know us Democrats are easily divided & they stick together! The GOP also knows to get what you want in American politics you have to have a unified Party that is willing to take small victories when you can get them & over time you end up changing the country! Just like they have been doing for the past 25-30yrs!

28. Very True! And if the voices I hear coming from...
some of the OWS folks & many here on DU actually sit out as they claim or vote for a 3rd party candidate like Nader should he run then the Republicans will probably get to put 1-2 more Conservatives on the SCOTUS bench!

Just imagine a 7-2 SCOTUS! Kiss women's rights good bye! And basically America will be held back for the next 20-30yrs!

This really is looking like a nasty nightmare coming if we do not come together as a Party & get behind Obama & all the Democrats running for the House & Senate!

I know if Obama was given a Liberal Senate & House we/OWS could get much of what we all want! But if they "Teach Obama a lesson" then it will only hurt us/ middle class not to mention the future of the SCOTUS!

26. As long as the GOP controls
the media, and they do, we're doomed to a government of by and for the wealthy elites. The uneducated dupes that vote Republican are easily frightened because they are essentially too stupid to realize they're being played. They've been voting Republican since Nixon's Southern Strategy was a key to his election in 68. Their underlying message since then has been "we'll keep minorities in their place." Dividing the country and turning Americans against one another for cheap political gain is not only Machiavellian, but anti American.
They have successfully exploited the great dumbing down to the point where the most ignorant among us voted for a drunk because he was the guy with whom they wanted to drink beer.
Ignorance cleared the path toward our demise and foolish greed with be the final nail in the coffin. Say goodbye to America. The great experiment is over.

29. I share your FEARS!!!
If Obama loses this election the Supreme Court could easily end up 7-2 Conservative...And most of the Conservatives are very young so America would be held back in the 18th Century for 30+yrs!

We need to come together & prevent this from happening!

21. McConnell continues the lie that federal funding to help states
retain police/firefighters etc. will come from taxes on small businesses. This is one of the Repubs favorite lines that small businesses will suffer from fair taxation. They never mention how tax reform will affect mega corporations; it's always small businesses that will suffer. Like they give a shit about small business.
