I am hearing rumors of ACORN being behind OWS.

I am serious. I read a comment on FB about it and when I did a google search, I found the usual suspects spreading this; FauxNuzz, RonPaul forums, et al.

So yes, they have officially resurrected ACORN from the dead, just like Perry is resurrecting the birther issue.

After watching the Livestream from NYC several times, there's no doubt about the planning and funding.

The people on the Livestream broadcast say they're just everyday folks, but they are amazingly knowledgeable about organizing this sort of thing. They all had websites and/or blogs with information about organizing, some of the posts going back as far as six months.

One guy said he had been working on it "full time" since April.

Was OWS underway in April? I don't think so. But their training certainly was.

About two weeks ago, one woman on the Livestream was from Miami and was in a layover in NYC. She was on her way to Istanbul to help them organize. She couldn't have been more than 22 years old. Yet, she's going to Turkey to organize protests there? Who trained her? Who's paying for that trip?

This is all very organized and well funded.

This time, they're getting a lot of press, because they've gotten better, and better, about getting their message out, and finding like minds.

I was surprised to recently learn that OWS has been around for as long as it has.

I knew the media didn't start covering the protestors until weeks after they'd begun protesting, but I was surprised that it was being organized for a long while before they even began the protest.

People like my mom were out there doing this stuff in the 60's - and she NEVER stopped. So my dad dies in July of this year - and what is she doing to get over her grief? Helping these folks do something my dad would have been thrilled to see had he lived the full year.

The TEAPS 60-somethings were goody goodies who didn't get out there and fight the status quo when it needed to be fought. They had no skills to lend the youngsters - hence why it was so easy for the Koch brothers to come in and take over.


The OWS' 60-somethings? They are a lot more saavy about protesting. In my mom's case and the case of more than a few of parents' friends . . . it's like they are going through their second 'twentysomethings'! :lmao: And that is a beautiful thing.

So yep - it's well 'done'. But the younger folks at protests around the country have the help, assistance, and support of the older 99% who've btdt in terms of inciting change through protest.
