Latest CNN/ORC poll: Romney 51 - Obama 47 among registered voters.
It's a 48-48 split among all respondents.

Obama leads Gingrich among registered voters by 8 points, but that is down from a 17 point lead over Gingrich last spring.

I wouldn't get too excited over these results. Accounting for the margin of error it is essentially a tie. Expect polling numbers to fluctuate widely over the next few months.

3. When the campaign actually BEGINS, this will change.
The MSM has been giving the GOP candidates a helpful rollout.

When the Obama campaign goes after the challenger, some of the voters will grasp the vast differences.

5. I Rather Run Against "Herb" Cain Or Gingrich
At least Romney exudes the semblance of normalcy.

6. 2012
Cain or Gungrich would be disasters.Romney Is only shot they have, and even he has serious problems.

Despite what some IN MSM now says they were calling Mccain a Formable opporent, and called Palin a Good VP pick.I remember on MSNBC pundits after debates actully claimed
Mccain won first debate and Palin the VP debate.Of course that Isn't what the public thought.

Let's also remember while Republicans take potshots at Obama he hasn't gone after those running for president yet.Romney has plenty that Obama can hit him on the head with.Seeing Huntsman's ads against Romney may be a preview of 12 ads against Romney If he's the nominee.

What do you want to bet they massively oversampled Republicans?

10. The RCP average has it as essentially a dead heat with Romney leading in three polls
but within the margin of error and Obama leading in one poll within the margin of error and leading in two polls outside of the margin of error.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/president_obama_vs_republican_candidates.html

I am not so worried about these poll results on their face value. But if it really is this close then Republican efforts to disenfranchise Democratic voters could bear some fruit in a close election. That is what I am really worried about. I would like to see Obama up by ten points at least.

of Mitt's flip-flops. It will be interesting to see him trying to wiggle out of them during the debates (assuming he is the nominee, of course).

Obama will have a much easier time running in 2012 vs. 2008. He has a record he can run on and a foil to attack if the economy is still struggling. Hopefully, most people once they find out that Mitt would have been o.k. with Detroit car makers declaring bankruptcy and people losing their homes, they'll think twice before voting for him.

14. Mitt's
more electable:

The key difference between Romney and Gingrich is electability. For the first time in CNN's polling, Romney now tops Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup among registered voters. But Gingrich faces an 8-point deficit when paired with Obama in a general election matchup.

Of course, CNN has to point that out because of Newtmentum!

Also, it's not the first time. Back in October 2010, Mitt was up by five points among registered voters and by one point among all respondents.

Still, given that the numbers have been within the margin of error (with a few spikes by Obama) for more than a year, and Mitt is losing ground, it's a good time to remind everyone that the other candidates are not electable.

17. My aim is to provide balance. Too many on this board ignore bad polls and only report on the good
ones. And when a bad poll comes out they refuse to believe it, yet they always jump on any positive poll. Why is that?

watch MSNBC propaganda channel. Re-acquaint your brain with PBS, Inside Washington, Charlie Rose, Meet the Press,Jim Lehr, Bill Moyers, et.al, instead of punditry. Maybe a little NPR now and then....

Critical thinkers' don't need others to form their own analysis....try it, it's good exercise..........

Maddow and the rest are for entertainment only..........LOL
