Herman Cain Accusation Reporting
I was checking out CNN and read the following abstract on Mr. Cain.

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) - A third woman will make false sexual accusations against Herman Cain, the GOP presidential candidate told CNN Monday.

Wouldn't it be simpler to say "a third woman will make sexual accusations against Herman Cain"?

It really, really pisses me off that reporting has degenerated to this level of sophistry. Socrates is rolling.

1. Apparently, they've had a 13-year relationship,
and he doesn't want to talk about it because it wasn't harrassment. What goes on in people's private lives is nobody's business, essentially.

The beauty part is that Newt can't say a word.

2. What goes on in people's private lives is nobody's business, essentially
. . . unless you're a Democrat and President.

4. Newt benefits because he gets everyone who leaves Cain.
It's a win-win for him.

12. And then they start asking him questions...
...and the the GOP self-implodes and Romney is left smelling like Santorum.

5. That shows just how amazingly pristine Obama must be!
He is almost super human on the clean, nice, decent, honest, faithful to wife scale. He's so pure. If there was one speck of dirt, you know it would be on the news 24/7.

6. What is wrong with the way it was reported?
The source is Cain and he's the one that said that a woman would come forward with a "false" accusation. That's what CNN reported.

9. I really don't know.
I have this visceral feeling like I'm being misled.

The wording and the headline makes it seem that it is the author of the article, not Cain himself. It's a mild thing, like passive voice. Subtle misdirection, but still - shouldn't the story be that Cain is a POS and not that he comes forward to deny something that hasn't even broke yet...?

It rubbed me the wrong way and I wanted to know if I was way off base here.
