A question about posting comments made here at another site

I recently came across a website that is moderated by at least two DU'ers in good standing. The site features two or three groups that seem to be nothing but posts taken from here at DU, including user names, that are then torn apart with much name calling and vitriol. Labels and name calling such as bitch, bigot, cunt, asshole, douche and many, many others are tossed around freely. The derision and disgust for DU is up there with anything you would find at FR, including stating that DU is "just another Stormfront".
I know there are sites out there that do this to DU but I have yet to find one actually run by members in good standing here.

My question is, are we as members allowed to do this? Or would posting snippets from threads here at another website and then denigrating those threads and posters with words and name calling that would never be allowed here ok?

1. Here's the deal with these sites.

There are a bunch of websites out there on the Internet where current and former DU members whine about DU. We don't permit linking to any of these sites from Democratic Underground because they are filled with hateful garbage about our members, and are therefore disruptive to this site.

As the administrator of DU, I can't allow or disallow behavior on other sites. Because my authority begins and ends on Democratic Underground. For one thing, I can't possibly verify anyone's identity on other sites. Furthermore, I have ZERO interest in visiting these other sites and reading their garbage. I believe the best approach to dealing with these sites is for everyone to ignore them. But I also understand that is not realistic, as many people can't seem to resist for whatever reason.

So, I don't approve of these sites, and I don't approve of the behavior of the people who post on them. But I can't reasonably institute a blanket policy that I am going to punish people for the things they (might) post on other websites. If their bad behavior on other websites bleeds into DU and ends up disrupting DU, then I have no qualms about banning them -- and indeed I have done so many times.

I also want to note that they band together there and attack certain threads here, never knew there were groups that actually did that! What the heck?
