Why were these posts deleted?
This one still stands: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x1204375

There were several similarly worded posts about the Bushes, the Roosevelts, the Rockefellers, the Harrisons, the Tafts, and one that combined the D'Alessandro and Cuomo families into a single post.

Were they judged as spam? If so, on what basis?

Meanwhile, the posts are gone and there is just a black hole where they used to be. No answers. No explanation. Just three copycat threads mocking mine that still stand in The Lounge, where the mods moved them, apparently as tribute to my originals.

1. There was some confusion. Here's what happened.
Your threads generated a bunch of copycats, which aren't permitted in GD.

The mods started moving them to the Lounge.

We told the moderators to just delete the copycats.

They did so, but did not go back and delete some of the threads which were already moved to the Lounge.

And unfortunately, there was some confusion and some of your posts were deleted as copycats, even though they weren't.

2. Fair enough . . . .
That's an explanation that makes perfect sense and is understandable.

Too bad the threads got taken down. They were inspired by this:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/11/AR2009091101831.html

Something disturbing: The copycat threads were purely mocking. That's a big, splashy, yelling and screaming personal attack, nothing less. Why do they not result in more than just having the thread yanked? And not just these few copycat posts. My comment is far more broad.

3. "more than just having the thread yanked"?
You mean, like banning the people who posted them?

4. Ummm . . . .
. . . . don't we have something between zero and nuclear?

The reason for, and result of, moderator action is almost always a study in silence. Actions in a black hole.
