1. This is a classic DU2 moderating situation.

The comment about engineers is arguably insensitive toward engineers. But at the same time, engineers aren't exactly an oppressed minority, and I think the comment could be brushed off as a harmless joke which does not reflect a genuine belief that all engineers are nuts. So, the moderators are stuck with a choice: Take a zero-tolerance approach toward anti-engineer bigotry, or brush it off as a joke? It appears they chose the latter.

But given that fact, I think your post probably should have been permitted to stay.

So, I can either delete the other person's posts, or put your post back. You let me know what you want me to do.
