Reuters, who released all but the first picture shown here, have said: 'The photos taken by a Pakistani security official who entered the compound after the early morning raid on Monday. The official, who wished to remain anonymous, sold the pictures. Reuters is confident in their authenticity'.

1. They don't bother me, but I was a nurse, and blood was part of that.

2. Thank you for not posting the photos.
I have no need to see them. I'm sure someone will find a way to post them here in a post. I hope not to click on that thread.

13. Stealth Pave Hawk.
You can bet your sweet ass the Pakistanis will pour over that with all their scientist. Seems the rest of it is pretty much toast.

...Admittedly I'm a bit of an aficionado. :D

I'm not too worried about technology creep; there's more to stealth than clamping an angular shape onto something -- and even doing that properly is a tough nut to crack.

The interesting part is that the thing not only works, but is operational. We trotted it out for this the same way we did F117s in Gulf 1.

Edited to add: frankly, this piece of wreckage puts to rest any notion of Pakistan being informed of the operation.

12. Why didn't they take those bodies along with Bin Laden? They
didn't want to release Bin Laden's photo saying it may incite violence yet they released those pictures. How did these pictures end up in the UK? Strange looking helicopter, something top secret I bet.

Remember they took Bin Laden.

18. They took Bin Laden and gave him a proper Muslim burial and
left the others there? I must admit the whole thing does seem strange to me. Why were they in such a hurry to dispose of Bin Laden's body?

16. Because they aren't people of interest.
The US government didn't release these pictures. A Pakistani ISI agent or soldier sold them to Reuters.

to at least confirm he was his son.

look at picts of this son and agree it's him. I don't think he was such a person of interest as Osama was.

Difficult to tell when these pictures were taken. Seems like after they took Osama's body but before they cleaned up and took everything else. Bet they ended up with him also or at least took cells for DNA.

http://www.dawn.com/2011/05/04/us-troops-took-away-osamas-son.html
The official said there were 17 or 18 people in the compound at the time of the attack and that as well as taking Osama bin Laden’s body away the Americans took one person alive — possibly one of his sons.

Four dead bodies were left in the compound. It is believed they are of another son, 2 brothers and a guard.

Those who survived the attack included the wife, the daughter and 8 to 9 other children — not apparently Bin Laden’s but possibly those of his brothers. All those being held in Pakistan will be returned to their countries of origin.

22. Maybe I am used to seeing dead bodies but I did not think the pictures were all that disturbing
Two of the males in the picture are definitely Pakistani. I can tell from just looking at their hair and faces. There is a guy who does not look Pakistani and perhaps is Bin Laden's son. He is the one with the short hair cut and the white t shirt.

24. That is the one. Osama looks very much like an old boyfriend of mine.
First time I say Osama I was struck with the resemblance. The picture of the one in the white t-shirt I thought was Osama at first, but he is much too young and looks like the son. The son looks like the father in the eyes and eyebrows, the upper face. Sigh. Looks like my friend who is sephardi.
