Apple parts Supplier has SUICIDE NETS outside their workshop to keep employees
from killing themselves. The workers were so exhausted from overwork they were jumping.

There were also 12 year olds working on Apple phones.

Our local news station KATU just aired a story from a guy who went to the factories and secretly filmed.

This is a mighty high price for cheap electronics.

2. I know people like to beat up on Apple, because really, it kind of asks for it, but it's a pretty
good assumption that anything that says "Made in China" is made under similar conditions.

8. In particular, Foxconn produces for many computer companies
Basically every major computer company uses them. I'm not a fan of Apple's business practices, but they aren't any more to blame for this than other companies and even ourselves for buying the products.

6. Not cheap at all, very expensive designer product
intended to enhance the hip quotient of the people who buy them. They are so sleek, they make you into a smriky, adorable twentysomething. If you buy the other one you are a nerd. So if you need the hip, it might be worth the child labor and suicide nets. Hip is really important to Apple users, and those worker children are never going to be hip anyway.
