He said it was reported by the Washington Post

on edit, found more info:

Budget talks: Republicans offer to seek common ground with Democrats

Senior Republicans conceded Wednesday that a deal is unlikely on a contentious plan to overhaul Medicare and offered to open budget talks with the White House by focusing on areas where both parties can agree, such as cutting farm subsidies.

On the eve of debt-reduction talks led by Vice President Biden, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (Va.) said Republicans remain convinced that reining in federal retirement programs is the key to stabilizing the nation’s finances over the long term. But he said Republicans recognize they may need to look elsewhere to achieve consensus after President Obama “excoriated us” for a proposal to privatize Medicare.

5. The republicans will stab them in the back. And they won't be happy until
many Americans are dead or living in the street. You are absolutely correct, republicans hate Americans with a passion. The GOP has become one very evil bunch in my lifetime.

7. Didn't like what you saw in the mirror, Mr. Cantor? The president just stated the facts.

But he should have "excoriated" you & your cabal. It was your constituency that rightfully excoriated your cruel plan.

Edited to add: Cut the two wars & eliminate tax cuts to the super wealthy -- problem solved.

9. They can blame it all on their "trickle down" master ... Reagan
I recall when R. Reagan was running for his first Republican endorsement, he was pushing the "trickle down economics" theory, and the Republicans that were running against him, at the time, were calling it "voodoo economics". Damned if he didn't sell the country on it and get elected ... ever since, the Republicans have pushed & pushed their Supply-side theory as the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer.

Amazing how the working class keep getting suckered in by a promise to cut their taxes by not asking "how you going to pay for it?"

11. When the Republicans talk about reining in Federal retirement programs
Do they include their own Congressional plan since they repeatedly say "everything is on the table?" Just wondering since I haven't heard too much about this particular slice of the pie being on the table ....
