Daily Show: Move over San Francisco, Minneapolis is the new gay Mecca
Source: RawReplay
By Kase Wickman

San Francisco, once a gay Mecca, is now only the eleventh-gayest city in America, according to a new ranking. “Minneapolis is the new gay!” declared “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on Monday night.

“If you take the gag out and stick somebody’s dick in your mouth, is that gay enough?” asked a San Francisco sex shop worker, trying to win points in Jason Jones’ investigation of whether Minneapolis was gayer than San Francisco.

Watch the full clip below, embedded courtesy of Hulu and originally broadcast on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” on May 9, 2011.

3. Saw it last night and was passing Pinot Grigio through my nose!
Those guys need to warn me when they're gonna be in my City, I'll go to an interview like a lamb to the slaughter!

One thing that killed me was the SF activist talking about how we have naked guys walking on the street. Yeah, that's true, but it's not the ones you wanna see without clothes. Anyway, let the world say what it wants, we here know SF to be gayer than anywhere else in the world. And any straight man who wants to hang out here can probably have his pick of us hot San Francisco women!:hi:

4. As gay goes mainstream, they no longer need flamboyance
I used to hang out at Science Fiction conventions, and have noticed that as SF goes more mainstream, the attendance of the convention is getting smaller and older.

The men in the San Francisco portion of that clip are the older, militant component, who needed to be in-your-face to allow the next generation to be boring suburbanites.

10. Agree with your second sentence
I was shocked at first to learn SF didn't even crack the top 10; I live an hour east of the city and it's pretty gay! But, yeah, it has become almost a caricature of itself. Congrats to Minneapolis :-)

6. Yeah, right
Minneapolis thinks it's more bike friendly than Portland, too. While they fooled the editors at Bicycling magazine last year, the cognoscenti know the real score.

It is a warning to any city that hosts the RNC convention.
