The ignorant, the crazies, and those who use them
Edited on Tue May-10-11 11:13 AM by Cyrano
The ignorant? – Those who vote for Republicans no matter what, even though most of them are voting to screw themselves time, after time, after time. They’ll never get it.

The crazies? – Those who are not mentally deranged enough to be hospitalized, yet scare the shit out of their neighbors. -- Or are never noticed because they never go out. -- Or those who seem perfectly normal and will explode someday, and whose neighbors will say, “He was such a nice, quiet guy. Never bothered anyone.”

Those who use them? -- The Republican Party and those super wealthy pricks who paid for and own the Republican Party, the MSM, and the propaganda machine that shrieks lies at us every hour of every day.

By the time 2012 comes around, half the population will believe that Bush “got” Bin Laden and that Obama had nothing to do with it.

By the time 2012 comes around, half the population will believe that Obama, not Bush, was responsible for our economic disaster and unemployment.

By the time 2012 comes around, half the population will blame Obama for everything and forget that Bush even existed.

The power of loud, repeated lies is enormous.

So here’s my question. What are we Democrats going to do to keep Republicans from taking over the White House and the Senate?

1. Just noting that Koch Brothers and Karl Rove Crossroads have millions to run those lie ads
non stop.

Not saying we can't get the message out that those are lies. But we are facing a well funded disinformation campaign.

Taking back the House and getting a Real Strong Majority of real Democrats in the Senate is a HUGE Priority. Some DU'ers are apparently "lukewarm" about Obama. So I think the first step is getting everyone on board with the House and Senate campaigns. Face it, a lot of that battle is getting voters to the polls to vote for Obama - while they are there they will vote for other Dems.

6. I have come in contact with many Democrats who think all is lost and
whose attitude is "screw it." It's a mindset I can understand given the nonstop right-wing propaganda machine.

But here's the thing. The right wing is our enemies. They don't take prisoners. If we surrender we're dead. No, they won't send us to gas chambers. They'll just ignore our existence and our needs until there are no more of us.

Somehow, some way, we must make each and every Democrat and Independent in America understand this. If not, move to Canada, Europe, Australia, or wherever now. If the Republicans get to run the whole show, this is not somewhere that any sane human being would want to be.

2. I don't know why everyone seems to be the glass is half empty type
The republicans will never take the senate and they will lose the house in 2012. Every single day they pass bills that aim to kill every single American slowly in the house. Obama taking down Bin Laden sealed the deal that Democrats will win. You can see by all the desperate bills the Republicans keep trying to pass, that they know they are in major trouble and the only way they can even hold on to any gains they made last election is to cheat.

4. I wish I had your confidence. But every election since Reagan proves otherwise.
Nonetheless, there's nothing wrong with being positive. It's just not enough and more needs to be done.

3. And yet they're propped up as "the other side of the argument" every time
by our lame-ass propaganda TV sets and newspapers. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that people are so dumb that they actually believe that pathological liars and insane people are a valid "other side" to an argument. Other times I realize how easy it is for people to remain dumb for their entire lives.
